my name is Ana Lucía Santillán
Curiosity has always been one of my main drives, the concept of creating an intangible image in your mind and being able to create a physical object or service from a mere thought has always amazed me. My journey started in the arts. I immersed myself into the visual arts world as a kid, eventually leading me to choose Industrial Design as my career path, seeing Design as an opportunity to not only create objects or services but make a whole experience out of them and have a positive impact in society and the environment. My two main focuses during my University studies were Social impact design, where I became part of multidisciplinary teams that worked together on projects focused on society’s welfare with philanthropic purposes, as well as sustainable design, having studied a semester Certificate in Sustainable Design where I learned from experts in the topic about materials, manufacturing process, environmental factors and life cycle of an object. Currently, I find myself improving other skills that I have considered valuable not only for my professional career but also for my personal life, by dedicating myself to learning through an intensive German language course and picking up on my visual art skills.
